Ita Freeney, Outer Edges

Opening Thursday 5.30pm – 7.30pm, 23rd May

Opening remarks from Very Ryan, freelance Art Historian

Continues until 22nd June 2019

The Lavit Gallery is delighted to present a solo exhibition of works by artist, Ita Freeney. Outer Edges opens 23rd May and continues until Saturday 22nd June. An artist talk will take place in the gallery Saturday 8th June, 11.00am, all are welcome.

This exhibition of subtle atmospheric paintings includes a series of views out from or  towards  Glounthaune, Marino Point, Aghada, East Ferry, Cobh and Little Island – observed and studied at different times of day, in different seasons and from different vantage points. The block of buildings of Marino Point were of particular interest as their form changed constantly in different atmospheric conditions. Prominent lyrical, airy, ephemeral grey blue tones of sea and sky are contrasted and anchored by more graphic, vertical urban motifs.
