David Magee (b.1963) is an Irish Artist. He was born and raised in Cork, Ireland. His works are held in both private and international collections. He studied Fine Art at Crawford Municipal School of Art. In 1982, he attended Glasgow School of Art & Design where he studied under Thomas Joshua Cooper, American fine-art landscape photographer. Outside, is a twenty-five year retrospective of his work. This exhibition presents thirty-two Limited Edition photographs, painstakingly selected from an extensive archive.
“In my photographs, there is no real sense of time or specific place. The location is totally secondary to the feeling. The feeling is everything. I aim to portray not just what exists, but what is not obvious; that imperceptible element that stirs emotion and a sense of contemplation…”
The Exhibition is accompanied by multi-award-winning Limited Edition Hard Cover Book, produced with meticulous attention to detail, from the print production to the handcrafted binding and choice of papers used throughout. Square in format, beautifully printed, bound in a hand made Japanese paper and featuring lucent gold and translucent foiling, the book is an invaluable addition to any discerning collection of fine-art photography.
