Born in Hong Kong in 1964, Mark spent his childhood in rural Norfolk, England. He studied at Goldsmiths Art College in London and graduated with an honours BA in Fine Art, specialising in landscape and portraiture. He spent the next four years travelling throughout Asia, Australia and New Zealand. He gained much of his inspiration from living in the rainforest and wilderness in these countries.
Mark came to Ireland on a holiday in 1992 and was so inspired by the unspoilt landscape and the natural beauty that he, his wife and family moved here. He lives and works outside Killarney, Co. Kerry.
Mark has exhibited widely throughout Ireland since his arrival here. His work is in numerous collections, both private and public.
“There are still areas of wilderness in Ireland and I feel very fortunate to be able to live here and have a constant source of inspiration for my work.”
